Passion For Fame #FullSailHOF

I was really excited to return to Full Sail University's annual Hall of Fame event. It's always like a big family reunion.

This year, however, was a bit different. Instead of just lecturing, I took them through the process of branding someone live on stage—beginning to end.

2017 Hall of Fame Inductee Fernando Delgado let me, my team, and the students give him a brand from scratch throughout the week.  We did it three stages—position, build, and promote.

#1 - Position included a brand audit with Fernando live on stage. This consultation is something I do with every client before working together. By the end, we were able to determine the exact direction we were going to go with this new brand.

#2 - Build gave students a look at the design process, and how elements from our audit could inspire Fernando's visual brand—photography, brand identity, and website. It was pretty exciting to share the big reveal with him.

#3 - Promote casually discussed strategies to most effectively promote a personal brand, including content creation, growth strategy, and on social media.

Phil Pallen

I'm Phil Pallen, a brand and AI strategist who has spent 15 years helping small businesses figure out who they are, say it clearly, and show up consistently. About six years ago, I started creating content on the side as a way to teach strategy and tools to people who wanted to build their brands themselves. That side project now makes up 80% of what I do, and it has given me hands-on experience with hundreds of tools, partnerships with over 150 brands including Adobe, and a clear sense of what actually works for small businesses.

I have delivered keynote speeches on five continents, written AI for Small Business, and created Brandmasters, a private membership community for small business owners serious about their brand.

I am not just someone who talks about this stuff. I live it, test it, and teach it every day.
